Teyip Demir “TD” Yellow Crinkle gets its name from its distinct yellow skin that crinkles as it dries on the tree. When fully ripe, the skin can also develop some purple blushing. The round fruits have a strong attachment to the tree, and their intense sweetness is concentrated when they are allowed to dry and form their signature crinkles. The figs grow to be medium-large and have a uniform, round shape. The pulp has a sweet berry flavor. TD Yellow Crinkle is a common variety, not requiring wasp pollination. Some growers note that this fig is best suited for dry climates.
